Our thoughts are like plants - Tejas Patel

Our thoughts are like plants. We have to decide on which we should pour water on and what we should allow to wither away.~ Tejas Patel

It feels so good, when you actually muster up the courage. You might lose a friend but, if that’s the case, you don’t need friends like that. ~ Val Blowman

Thoughts being like plants implies that just as plants require nourishment and care to grow, our thoughts also need attention and cultivation to develop and thrive. It suggests that we have the power to influence the growth and development of our thoughts, just as we have the power to nurture or neglect a plant.

When we “pour water” on our thoughts, we are giving them attention, focus, and energy. This could involve actively thinking about them, reflecting on them, and trying to develop them further. It could also involve seeking out information and experiences that support and strengthen these thoughts.

On the other hand, when we “allow our thoughts to wither away,” we are choosing to neglect them and not give them the attention they need to grow. This could happen when we ignore our thoughts or distract ourselves from them, or when we fail to take action on them.

Just as with plants, we have to decide which thoughts we want to nurture and which we want to let go of. We should prioritize those thoughts that are positive, constructive, and aligned with our values and goals. At the same time, we should be mindful of thoughts that are negative, unhelpful, or harmful and work to replace them with more positive and constructive ones. By doing so, we can shape our thinking and cultivate a more positive and fulfilling life.
